The Punjab government is going to set up cricket academies in different cities under the supervision of former test cricketers so as to hunt new talent, PML-N leader and Chairman Steering Committee Sports Punjab, Hanif Abbasi, said. While addressing a meeting of Steering Committee in Lahore, Abbasi said the government is giving top priority to the development of sports and work on different sports schemes and projects is in full swing across the province.

He further said sports grounds for hockey, cricket, football, kabaddi, volleyball and others sports are under construction while cricket grounds will also be equipped with flood lights. "We are working under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab to develop sports facilities across the province." It may be added that 'Zaheer Abbas Cricket Coaching Academy' has already inaugurated at Jinnah Stadium Sialkot under the banner of Punjab Sports Board.
